MySERP 2.0 - finally a scalable Google filter

Myserp20

Last year we built MySERP which got a bit of fan fair because of all the affiliate spam clogging up the results pages however when Google demo'd a 'remove' feature in Nov 2005 we canned our R&D as they appeared to get the message. We let MySERP languish even though it got loads of buzz because we were waiting for Google to release its new feature but they never did....

...but now she's back with a bit of 2.0 social search shine to boot - MySERP 2.0.  I've offloaded all the filtering process back onto Google :-) so its much faster and already have over 200 websites filtered that I never want to see in a results page again.

This is a call out to volunteers who never want to see most of the affiliate link sites and a few others in the Google results again to join in this public 'eval' mission and make MySERP your search engine of choice.

Being a volunteer is easy. Once accepted, add the Google marker button to your browser and then as you browse the web submit and annotate websites or pages you don't want to see.

Note for the COOP team: From experience with our MySERP R&D here, to make COOP even simpler can you make it so that when someone adds .mysite.com - notice the dot at the start, it means all sub domains of that domain. Having the dot ensures that it doesn't match similar domains I.E. www.notthesame-mysite.com and makes it quicker to do large-scale exclusions.
