Google Agency Event - Dublin

Thursday, 16 November 2006

A big thanks to the Google guys last week for being most hospitable in Dublin. Heading out the day before the event I got to meet up with our account contact for a Guinness and discuss new developments within the AdWords product set. The push was on mobile ads, first tested on the Japanese market, the current growth of 3G users and the fact that there are more mobile users in the world than broadband users make mobile ads a positive media spend.
Also look out for enhanced business ads, tied in with Google maps, business ads supply more information than a standard results page ad - including logo icons, an address plus the ad text.
Dublin is the location for Googles European headquarters & tour of the offices the next day was an insight into the life of Googlers - of course denied any contact with engineers. It was evident that this multilingual hub in Dublin is growing at an enormous rate and - a fantastic opportunity to meet up with the team.
