Search engine marketing worth €3bn in Europe by 2010

Friday, 15 April 2005

Sewteddie_1Forrester Research predicts that by 2010, European marketers will spend almost €3bn, up from €856m in 2004, on search marketing.

... Excellent :-)

Oddly though it says that the growth is most likely to come from SME's. I think they're wrong and that actually European SME's, or at least UK ones are actually ahead of the game. Therefore the largest growth will be brands and blue chips.

The only cloud on the horizon for search seems to be rich media, however as a twirly flash animation wont help me find something, I don't think it will knock searches popularity as much as predicted.
