Search Overtakes Banners...

Those involved in the search engine marketing industry have been preaching the ROI benefits of search marketing as opposed to banners for some time now.  Finally it seems that the wider world has woken up to the fact as well....

Jupiter Researches annual online advertising report predicts that spend on paid search advertising will overtake that on banner advertising by 2010, growing at 12% per annum as opposed to a banner growth rate of around 7%.

"There is phenomenal momentum behind search engine advertising," JupiterResearch analyst Gary Stein said in a statement. "The number of advertisers using search to market products continues to grow, as does the overall efficiency of the market-- search engines are getting even better at making money off search engine results pages,"
