UK - Google Local

Tips for Getting Listed within Google Local:

The fastest way to get your listings to show within Google Local UK would be to submit through Yell.com, you should be able to apply for a free listing?

As yet, Google Local in the UK does not provide a way of entering/changing your own business details to their directory. Again Yell.com is the only guaranteed way to do this.

Local Search also crawls other directories, which we are in the process of getting a list of.

Spiders will also pick up your details automatically through your contact page, but we cannot predict the time scale local search will take to spider your new contact details.

It is recommended that your address details are within the Meta Data (description & keywords) and you could also put your address in the footer of every page.

I would presume that eventually businesses will be able to add/amend directly from the UK Google Local, as this feature is already available for the US and Canada.
